There are three kinds of yeast-based spreads available for use. The most popular and effective yeast-based spread is Monistat. Monistat is a yeast infection pill that must be taken on an empty stomach. It has the active ingredient trifluoperazine. This pill kills the yeast and fungus in the vagina. The demand for alcohol has increased over the years with the brewing industry growing rapidly. As per the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service’s Global Agricultural Information Network’s report, India was expected to record over 3 billion liters of ethanol in 2019, increasing by 11% from 2018. As per the same source, in 2018, 2.7 billion liters of ethanol were produced from molasses. Such high production of ethanol or alcohol can accelerate growth of the yeast-based spreads market.

Some women have had success with a single dose of clotrimazole. However, they need to take this medication every day and some have reported that their yeast infection symptoms are still present after three months of taking clotrimazole.
