Vodafone and Mencap enter into a partnership for the global disability devices market
North America is expected to dominate the global disability devices market and this is attributed to the high presence of the geriatric population and this is creating demand for disability devices. According to the Urban Institute, the number of Americans ages 65 and older will more than double over the next 40 years, reaching 80 million in 2040. The number of adults ages 85 and older, the group most often needing help with basic personal care, will nearly quadruple between 2000 and 2040. Growing government initiatives and increasing cases of disability due to accidents are contributing to the growth of the disability devices market. According to the World Health Organization, every year the lives of approximately 1.35 million people are cut short as a result of a road traffic crash.
