Vaporizer Market Witness Upward Trend with Emergence of Novel Coronavirus Disease

Vaporizer Market

An inhalation device, also commonly referred to as an inhaler or vaporizer, is a tool used to inhale materials. Inhalation through the nose is normal and is done when the inhalant delivers sufficient oxygen into the lungs for it to become functional. Other inhalation devices include nebulizers and pressurized cylinders that are designed to deliver medicine via fine mist into the lungs.

High prevalence of respiratory diseases is expected to aid in growth of the vaporizer market. According to a report by Global Initiative For Chronic Obstruction Disease’s 2018 report, Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is expected to result in 4.5 million global deaths annually by 2030. In May 2021, Tel Aviv received Health Canada approval for a cannabinoid inhaler. Thus, approval and launch of cannabinoid inhaler is also expected to aid in growth of the market.

The inhalation device utilizes a device called an atomizer or vaporizer, which is essentially a plastic tube with a wick at one end that is used to absorb the volatile ingredients. The other end of the tube contains the needed liquid to heat up. Most vaporizers or inhalers are used with the use of a cotton swab or a moistened tissue, such as a Q-tip. A cotton swab is the most common material used to take in the medication; however, it is not recommended because it is more likely to transfer the medication from the device into your mouth.

Increasing geriatric population is also expected to aid in growth of the vaporizer market. For instance, according to the World Health Organization, geriatric population is expected to reach 2 billion by 2050, up from 900 million in 2015.

Another type of vaporizer available in the vaporizer market is called the convection heating unit. These types of vaporizers utilize principles similar to those of the microwave but in a different fashion. A convection heating unit uses heat conduction to generate a stream of vapor. The material used is typically glass, metal or ceramic. In the past convection heating units were large and could not fit in a home; however, modern convection heating units are compact and fit easily in a kitchen.

Emergence of Covid-19 is expected to aid in growth of the vaporizer market. Globally, as of 3:59pm CEST, 25 May 2021, there have been 167,011,807 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 3,472,068 deaths, as reported to the World Health Organization.
