Mindray has announced the launch of its new A8 and A9 anesthesia machines: expanded its presence in the global anesthesia device market

Anesthesia Device Market

North America is expected to lead the global anesthesia device market and this is due to the fact that this is accounted for the presence of a large number of ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) and hospital inpatient settings in this region. According to Becker’s ASC Review, in 2017, there were 5,480 Medicare-certified ASCs and 5,564 registered hospitals in the U.S.

1.      In October 2020, Mindray has announced the launch of its new A8 and A9 anesthesia machines in the UK market. Both the A8 and A9 are the first devices in the industry to have integrated high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) technology within the anesthesia machine

2.      In January 2017, GE Healthcare has launched CS600 Carestation Series in Indonesia, which is the latest technology of anesthetic tool that is easier to operate, accurate, flexible, and capable of reducing errors in the surgery room

3.      In May 2018, Getinge, a global provider of innovative medical technology, announces the official launch of the Flow-c Anesthesia Machine at The Euroanaesthesia Congress (ESA) in Copenhagen

A growing number of surgical procedures around the globe is a prime factor driving the growth of the anesthesia device market. The International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) released the results of their annual International Survey on Aesthetic/Cosmetic Procedures in 2019, which showed an overall increase of 5.4% in cosmetic procedures completed in 2018. The largest increase in surgical procedures was in Liposuction and Abdominoplasty, both with anincrease of over 9% compared to last year. Moreover, advancement in medical devices is again projected to augment the growth of the anesthesia device market. For instance, in January 2019, Mindray Medical International Ltd. launched the A-Series Advantage Anesthesia Delivery platform, which is a modular, state-of-the-art family of anesthesia solutions that includes A4, A5, and A7 Advantage systems.

Anesthesia is used for a variety of medical procedures and is required for the patient to have before and after the procedure. There are different types of anesthesia used depending on the type of operation, location of the operation, and the person that will be the patient. General anesthesia refers to local, which means that the dose used is low and very effective, and regional anesthesia, which is administered in the area where the surgery is performed. This type of anesthesia device comes in the form of capsules or powder that must be dissolved before the dose is administered and it must be mixed with enough water so as not to cause water retention
